To Create a Sound and Dynamic Corporation
The Ryobi Group closely adheres to its corporate philosophy, “Create a Sound and Dynamic Corporation through Technology, Trust and Challenge.” We seek to embody this philosophy by establishing ourselves as an indispensable corporate citizen responding to the needs of customers and society in general with innovative top-quality products and services.
In 2024, the business environment surrounding the Group was affected by persistently high energy and resource prices, ongoing inflation, and exchange rate fluctuations that, along with other factors, rendered the economic outlook unclear. In the automotive industry, domestic production stagnated, largely due to the repercussions of certification testing-related misconduct, even as the rapid shift to electric vehicles (EVs) caused Japanese, U.S., and European automakers to struggle in the Chinese market. On the other hand, demand for EVs grew stagnant in the United States, while a concurrent consumer trend in favor of non-EVs led to a higher number of hybrid and other conventional vehicles sold.
The automotive industry is currently undergoing major transformation due to the trend toward Connected, Autonomous, Shared and Electric (CASE) technologies. Against this backdrop, demand for die casting is expected to mount as it allows for the use of highly recyclable materials and is suited for the production of lightweight auto parts with complex shapes for use in chassis and other components. Accordingly, Ryobi has introduced an ultra-large die casting machine boasting a clamping force of 6,500 tons, with an eye to launching large parts prototype manufacturing services by the end of March 2025. We will take a forward-looking business approach to ensure that we stay up-to-date with the abovementioned trend toward transformation, which is currently sweeping through the entire manufacturing sector.
Moreover, in line with a new Medium-Term Management Plan starting from January 2025 and spanning three years leading up to December 2027, we are now implementing the three basic policies of “Enhancing market presence,” “Creating a safe, sound, and dynamic workplace,” and “Addressing environmental and social challenges. ” In these ways, we will pursue sustainable growth as well as medium- to long-term improvement in corporate value even as we cultivate relationships of trust with stakeholders.
Looking ahead, the Ryobi Group will step up and enhance its initiatives to create a “Sound and Dynamic Corporation.” We ask for your continued support of our endeavors.
